It is thought that 85% of the U K population do not know what aphasia is and yet w e estimate there to be 2\,537 people living with a phasia in Leeds after a stroke. This free training session seeks to push back against that and help people to truly understand the condition and consi der how to adapt their communication style when ta lking with a person with aphasia. This training se ssion is aimed at staff and volunteers from other charities or organisations who may support people with aphasia in their role in Leeds. It is part of a West Yorkshire wide series of training sessions being delivered in 2026-2027 by Aphasia Support a nd is funded by the British Aphasiology Society.
